James Alfie
Born and raised in London and based in Los Angeles, James Alfie is a contemporary artist whose work merges influences from graphic design, animation, graffiti, and fine art into a bold and instantly recognizable visual language. Defined by strong composition, striking characters, and a fearless use of color, his paintings blur the line between contemporary art and modern visual culture.
Working primarily in large scale acrylic paintings and original character driven concepts, Alfie’s work explores his unique approach to blending playful characters with deeper themes of identity & individuality. Through bold visual storytelling and highly stylized forms, his pieces challenge convention while celebrating the value of standing apart and embracing what makes each person unique.
In 2026, Alfie expands his creative universe with the release of his debut picture book, Hugo’s Hair, published by HarperCollins. While introducing his visual world into storytelling, the project remains an extension of his identity as an artist first carrying the same themes of originality, self-acceptance, and individuality found throughout his paintings.
