Sushi Monster is an original work inspired by my love of sushi and the visual world that surrounds it—the color, precision, presentation, and almost endless variety of forms.
The idea was to take those familiar elements and turn them into something entirely new. Sushi rolls, tentacles, chopsticks, roe, seaweed, and sashimi come together to create a single character: strange, playful, colorful, and slightly chaotic.
Sushi Monster is the first in an ongoing series of original Sushi Creatures, each built around different ingredients, personalities, and compositions. The series allows me to take something instantly recognizable and push it into my own visual language, somewhere between food, character design, and contemporary art.
At its core, the piece is simply about the joy of creating something unexpected from something you already love.
